This supplier, who doesn't do retail, put me in touch with Richard at 'Shavings'. He was a star, managing both to identify the style and colour of the original units and also offered very helpful advice on design options. I purchased the units, worktop and fridge through 'Shavings' at a very satisfactory price, and Richard coordinated the delivery to fit in with my installation programme."

My kitchen was transformed from one that had seen better days, to a beautiful and practical space to work and entertain. It's an old house, but the team worked round any quirky corners, and Richard's design made the absolute most of the storage space. It was helpful to be guided to the best suppliers of units, work surfaces and flooring. Richard's team have since done a very useful conversion of an unused space into a downstairs cloakroom. All the team members were pleasant and very professional."

"We used Richard Hall (aka Shavings) after finding we couldn’t get what we wanted from the major brands out there. They seem to be putting out new “trends” of colours and styles and hence end up limiting the options available. We wanted timber doors painted in ivory, which the major brands did not offer. Also they could not say what scope their fitter could do before we committed to the price, and didn’t take responsibility for what their fitter did outside of fitting the units. So it just didn’t work with them.
Richard gave us a wider selection of options and while his design layouts aren’t quite as polished as the major brands, he was always happy to go the extra mile to give us what we wanted, as well as making suggestions we hadn’t thought of, and that the major brands didn’t suggest. Appliances were charged by Richard at trade prices. He found a local fitter who was very methodical and detailed and made sure that all was done correctly and as we wanted. The fitter did everything except the electrics, but he did co-ordinate that for us too.
So we ended up with what we wanted, and more, and at a price which saved us over £5,000 off what the major brands would have charged.
We would definitely recommend Richard Hall/Shavings."

"Working with Shavings was a great decision. This company was recommended to me and despite being located 200 miles away, the project could not have gone smoother. The service was five star - Richard replies instantly to any enquiry and has a huge amount of knowledge gained through being in the industry for years. The kitchen was delivered in 1-2 weeks and the quality is really high. We choose a navy kitchen with a marble effect worktop. It looks stunning as Richard ensures that the design really works for what you need and came up with some amazing ideas for storage and a banquette that we could never have thought of by ourselves."

"Shavings helped us choose and design our kitchen at the budget we could afford. Anything we chose which we disliked was changed at a moment’s notice. We changed our minds about a few things but this was not a problem. Nothing was too much trouble and good design advice, suggested at the very last minute by shavings has given us a kitchen to be proud of, even better than we imagined. In addition to this, shavings personal installer did a really good job and I can find no fault with any of the work done. He also did extra work for us which we requested at very short notice, some even being after the work was started. Not many places would do this. I have a lovely kitchen now, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to other people - just for the record, I have already done so!

“While we were building our house we looked at the ranges of ready-assembled kitchen units available from the big, well-known specialist suppliers. We were not very comfortable with sales approaches that encouraged us to take advantage of special discounts that were time limited. Then we came across Shavings Kitchens, who offered essentially the same products, but at a much more reasonable price and no pressure to rush into making decisions. Richard was a good listener who made helpful suggestions and followed through after the sale to make sure everything was satisfactory.
